The 81st Annual George Washington Dinner will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Junior League o
f Houston. The evening will commence with a cocktail reception at 6 pm, before sitting down for a multi-course meal at 7 pm.
The Chapter Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the recipient of the Chapter’s George Washington Distinguished Service Award will be Pamela R. Wright. Mrs. Wright, a longtime Houston resident, has just completed serving as the 46th President General of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her many years of service to the DAR, she is a mother, grandmother, small business owner, philanthropist, and artist.
The Dinner's proceeds fund the Chapter's military-related activities throughout the year. These includes awarding $1,000 scholarships to four to six newly commissioned ROTC cadets and midshipmen from the Houston ROTC Consortium, a $1,000 scholarship to an HISD JROTC graduating cadet, scholarships for JROTC contests, participating in the annual Wreaths Across America, working with the Houston National Cemetery in various projects, honoring and providing service to veterans, and supporting our active-duty military service members.
Since 2022, the Chapter has awarded 18 scholarships to ROTC cadets and midshipmen.
