Patriotism is defined as “love of one’s country.” As members of the Sons of the American Revolution, we honor our ancestors - America’s first patriots - who fought and supported the creation of the first modern constitutional liberal democracy. We also recognize those in our community who not only promote the values on which our country was founded, but those who live those values through the service they give.
A potent and visible symbol of one’s patriotism is the proper display of the American Flag. The Paul Carrington Chapter seeks to recognize individuals and other entities who proudly fly the American Flag through the SAR Flag Certificate Program.
As many of our patriot ancestors answered the call to defend our nascent country, so too do today’s service members and veterans. Our chapter honors their service, dedication, valor, and in some cases, the ultimate sacrifice, trough our Veterans Programs.
There can be no greater measure of one’s patriotism to our country than through dedicating one’s live to public service. Our chapter proudly recognizes the accomplishments and service provided by members of the law enforcement, firefighter, and emergency medical services communities through our Public Service and Heroism Commendation Program.
Many citizens in our community give tirelessly of their time and talents to promote and support our country’s values. The Paul Carrington Chapter is please to recognize these individuals with Good Citizenship Medals and Awards.
Remembering our history and the reasons our patriot ancestors fought the 18th century world superpower, are important to today’s generations. In additional to educational programs, our chapter is promoting the celebration of our country’s 250th Anniversary. These celebrations will include our Chapter’s Color Guard, a visible reminder of the revolutionary ideals our Founding Fathers birthed.
