George Washington Distinguished Service Award

Since 1944, the Paul Carrington Chapter has selected a person who exemplifies the qualities of our first President -- leadership, service and duty. The chapter bestows on that person the George Washington Distinguished Service Award. The Award is presented in February to celebrate the birth of our country’s first Commander-in-Chief and President -- George Washington.

The 81st Annual George Washington Dinner will be held on March 7, 2025 at the Junior League of Houston. The evening will commence with a cocktail reception at 6 pm, before sitting down for a multi-course meal at 7 pm. The 81st Annual George Washington Distinguished Service Award has yet to be announced.

The Dinner's proceeds fund the Chapter's military-related activities throughout the year. These includes awarding scholarships to four newly commissioned ROTC cadets and midshipmen from the Houston ROTC Consortium, honoring and providing service to veterans, and supporting our active-duty military service members. In addition, with the proceeds from recent Dinners, the Chapter, working with the Houston Independent School District, awards two scholarships to HISD JROTC cadets each year.

Individual Tickets

Individual tickets for the event are $95 per person. A cash bar will be available during the reception and dinner service. The deadline to purchase sponsorships and tickets is March 1, 2025. Checks must be received by this date.
